FITNESS FOR SERVICE ASSESSMENTS
SimuMech provides fitness for service assessments for industrial equipment in South Africa, Australia and worldwide. We work with plant personnel and inspection teams to assess equipment condition in accordance with API 579 and support decisions about continued operation, repair, re-rating or replacement.
API 579 assessment services
Our team performs Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 assessments, with a particular focus on Level 3 assessments involving detailed finite element analysis.
Typical defects assessed include:
- Bulges and dents
- General metal loss and corrosion
- Pitting corrosion
- Weld misalignment and shell distortion
- Crack-like flaws
- Laminations
Working with your inspection team
We review the available inspection information with plant personnel to define the assessment scope. If you need inspection or NDT support, we can recommend experienced certified third-party inspectors with whom we have worked.
